The annual K5 Klassic Surf Contest went down this past memorial day weekend at D-Street in Encinitas Ca. There was some amazing surfing going down all day long between all the contestants but in the end it was Killian Garland taking the win, with Ricky Whitlock in second, …Lost team rider Darrell Goodrum taking third, and on his …Lost surfboard Teddy Navaro tking fourth.
…Lost team rider Aaron “Gorkin” Cormican was also competing in the contest throwing down fins free turns and lofty airs all the way into the semi finals of the event. Gorkin managed to get and hold the highest heat score of the day with an 8.5 in his heat in round 1 of the event. New San Diego …Lost team rider Darrell Goodrum was on fire through the whole event, utilizing every inch of the small mushy surf to throw some vertical snaps and launch some big airs to advance him to the finals of the event.
The …Lost crew was posted up on sand during the event cheering (sometimes heckling) the competitors and causing a scene on the sand. We were in full force spray painting kids and bikini girls, hookinig the crowd up with tons of …Lost Energy Drinks, free tees, stickers, posters, and other goodies while enjoying the event and having as much fun as possible on the sand! We also had a stack of fresh new Mayhem shapes and designs that were getting some use by some of the competitors during their heats. The beach was packed full of hotties in Bikinis and the crowds were having some fun watching all the guys throughout the event. The event is a benefit event that K5 boardshop puts on every year to raise money for the local Encinitas boys and girls club.
