Eddie took four skins in the event and the overall title. He won the "Most Experimental Maneuver Award" for his backside air shuvit (though he grabbed to help spin the board underneath him...so maybe it was a varial???), which scored an 8.3. COCO HO WINS PORTUGAL WCT ON MAYHEM SHAPE 10/29/09: 18 year-old Hawaiian rookie Coco Ho has won the 2009 Womens Portugal WCT defeating Chelsea Hedges in the final. Riding her magic 5'5" Stealth model Mayhem shape in the 2-3 foot surf Coco took out former World Champ Sofia Mulanovich in the quarters and then current world #2 Silvana Lima in the semi-finals to make it to her first WCT final. ...LOST ARTISTS FUNDRAISER EVENT Saturday September 19th ...LOST set up a U-Haul truck art show in downtown San Diego for the 4th annual Fruit of the Soul Fundraiser event. ...LOST helped to raise over $22,000 for art and music education in San Diego. The event was hosted by Niamh Scott Productions and Kelly Orange, with the support of local musicians and participation by over 30 of San Diego’s premier restaurants. Much of the evening was a blur with the help of free flowing wine, a cocktail bar provided by the Tractor Room, and ample amounts of beer flowing from award winning local breweries.
Criteria: Awarded to the men's apparel, footwear, wetsuit, hardgoods, accessory or media brand that produced the most creative marketing campaign in 2008. Consider men's brands that displayed a creative, cohesive and consistent brand message in print, digital and point-of-purchase materials. Campaign must have first appeared in consumer print publications with an on-sale date on or before October 1, 2008 (approx. the October or November issues of endemic magazines.)

COCO HO WINS WQS TOUR Hawaiian Coco Ho is the 2009 Womens WQS Champion. Riding her quiver of Mayhem shapes, the 18 year-old Coco racked up the results on the Womens 'QS tour all year and with the last event finishing up recently in Brasil she was crowned the champ. Last year Coco didn't even do all the events and qualified for the WCT basically on accident, so this is really her first full year on the 'QS. Once again Divel and Paul Harvey converged on Cabo to listen to seminars about businesses inside and outside of surfing, and surf, party, and do whatever those who surf do. LOWER TRESTLES-WCT 09 Mick Fanning beats Dane Reynolds in the final. Fanning surfed with predictable speed, power and flow to win. Mick f*ckin rips but we know exactly what he's going to do before he stands up. He's somehow made one of the most beautiful turns in surfing monotonous. 9th ANNUAL SAN CLEMENTE SKATE CONTEST The 9th annual San Clemente skate contest went down this weekend and the local kids were in full force contest mode. While raising funds for the Beaches, Parks and Recreation Foundation, over 60 kids competed in Saturdays event. From the little man division 8 and under all the way up to the 18 & over kids were killing it!

GARSON WINS ON GORKINS GROCKET 9/9/09 - Former ...Lost rider Kyle Garson won the 24th Annual National Kidney Foundation Pro-Am Surfing Festival in Cocoa Beach, FL on Labor Day weekend riding a stock ...Lost Grocket surfboard(it's basically a Rocket with an Aaron Cormican inspired, “Grocket” winged mini-swallow tail). Garson actually got the board from Gorkin himself a few days before the contest. Garson couldn't be reached for comment but Gorkin could - "Garson needed a board and I had a Grocket for him". Garson pocketed a cool $5,000 and as far as we know the first professional win on a Grocket board.

ECSC WEEKEND OF FUN No waves is what you can expect at the ECSC events held in the past, but this year tropical storm Danny spun its way right off the mid-Atlantic coast kicking up some fun chest high surf for this years contest.
The 47th annual ECSC event had the help of Coastal Edge taking on the title sponsor making this years event better then ever! Some of the tops brands had their tents up passing out free swag, playing games and hanging out in the sun.

Just wanted to let you know about the redbull rivals contest yesterday at Sandy Beach. It was super small but fun. It was South Shore vs. North Shore. South Shore won because all the guys on our North Shore team were getting beat by worms. I was the only person to go undefeated on both teams so I won the MVP award and I get to go sky diving with the redbull wings team or something. Hopefully the parachute opens.

CALI RALLY 09-AGAIN??? Its over and the Analog team won..sorry billabarng. The LOST team won best photos, best athlete (chucky), and had the most fun. We surfed lowers one day it was pumping and got clips while the other teams were frantically jumping into sewage holes or prancing around in speedos. We did some of this stupid shit but only to make everyone happy. We basically just surfed and partied our way up the coast. Met some new friends along the way and hooked up with some old ones. The new crew Luke and Josh got to hang with Chuckulupo and they learned the know how of being a professional surfer.

While all the big boys of the industry were getting drunk and playing golf at Monarch Beach Golf Club we were down on the sand with chicks, slip-n-slide, 5-hole mini golf and cases and cases of free ...LOST energy drink.
One of the things going on was one member of each golf group would come down and pick a LOST surfboard of his or her choice(Danielle Beck came down for Roxy). Weekend of Chaos at the X Games The level of skateboarding was off the charts all weekend long at the X Games 15 with some of the best skateboarders in the business all with one thing on their mind.
The pro street contest had a little different format this year with three fifteen minute jams on three different obstacles. Each jam lasted about 15 minutes and it was jam packed with great skating.

Brett Simpson has just won $100,000, taking out Mick Fanning in a pretty one-sided final..Brett opened up solid and never looked back. His first left showed everyone on the beach that he was ready to take the title from Mick, and at home nonetheless. LOST team rider Adam Dyet got knocked out early in the pro street contest but still had some energy for the 10,000 Tech deck best trick contest.

Sun Diego and ...Lost clean up the beach Fourth of July is always hard on our beaches. Huge number of V Neck, Dior Shades wearing Tourists who can care less about our ocean make their way down to the coast to get drunk, smoke cigs and trash our beaches.
…Lost along with Sun Diego and Surfrider made their way down to Oceanside to take part in the “Morning After Mess” cleanup day. Over 1,000 volunteers at six cleanup sites picked up over 4,000 pounds of trash and 28,000 cigarette butts that were left behind from the Independence Day celebration.

GORKIN WINS SWEETWATER PRO/AM Aaron Cormican has won the 2009 Sweetwater Pro/Am held in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. For his troubles Gorkin took home $5,000 and his second Sweetwater title. Riding a new Scorcher model, Gorkin surfed with more speed, flow and board control in the tiny surf than his competitors and was once again unstoppable at an East Coast event. KYLE'S STORY:
I went out with the boys the other day to discuss the current situation in Iraq over some sodas. After a heated conversation, I went for a skate to the local skate park and hung out with the local kids. In the afternoon I donated blood, volunteered at a local shelter and took a nap by the ocean while feeding the pigeons. Don’t know how, but I woke up without my pants.

The D-Man festival is an event to remember a friend and Dive N’ Surf employee Darren “D-Man” Marsee who passed away from Lymphoma back in 2005. We were happy to be part of the festival and help raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The dunk pool, bean bags toss and basketball hoops were among a few games played to raise money.

The championship this year was a total success. At times, it seemed like a deja vu of the same contest a year prior, when the sun also shined all day. The waves did not stop coming large and perfect throughout the event. Then when he won he also had the biggest smile.

LUKE DAVIS WINS SUN DIEGO PRO 4/21/09 - 16 year old ...Lost Surfboards rider Luke Davis took first place and $2,000 at the Sun Diego Pro contest last Saturday at Scripps Pier. Kolohe Andino, riding his Mayhem Shape, finished second behind Luke in the Pro division. Both surfers took out a slew of Pro surfers that can actually drive themselves to the beach like Brandon Guilmette, Cory Arambide and Ricky Whitlock. Shop of the Week - Secret Spot Surf Shop Secret Spot Surf Shop is one of the original surf shops on the Outer Banks with one of the biggest selection of Lost men's, boy's and jr's on the Outer Banks.
The shop is run by one of the top girl surfers on the East Coast Leanne Foster who took second in last years East Coast Championships, actually she would of gotten first but she caught a bomb out of bounds due to the heavy current so they gave her second.

Gorkin wins the inaugural Landshark Spring Surfari Pro held at his home break. In what was an epic event held at one of the east coast's most consistent waves, the surfers stood out as the performance level rivaled that of a WQS event. Gorkin started his push in the Quarterfinals and never looked back as he dropped scores in the high 7 to high 9 range all day. Lost skate team manager Chad Shetler, took a quick trip to skate with a few of the Lost Peru skate team riders. Check out these two sequences of Mason taking the axe to the head. He showed up the other afternoon to Pipe with only his 6' 7". He didn't know how the conditions were so thats all he grabbed from the pad. So Mason decided to surf with his buddies Adam Crawford and pipe standout Kawai, Masons cousin. Mason scored a couple good backdoor and pipe barrels early in the session. A FLY IN THE CHAMPAGE PREMIERE - IRONS OUTDOES HIMSELF 1/20/09 We attended the premiere of the IRONSBROS PRODUCTIONS's A FLY IN THE CHAMPAGNE premiere last night at the La Paloma in Encinitas. The movie is a 40 minute flick centering on the rivalry between Kelly Slater and Andy Irons.
Of all the Million dollar productions that have covered these two over the last decade
- this is truly the first to show real conversations (especially of Kelly) and shows them pretty close to how they really are. No pulleys and skits and poses to give them a palatable personality. Not since "Alley Oop" has anyone seen Andy Irons like this.

...LOST PERU TEAM RECENT WINS Gabriel Villaran landed second at the WQS in Puerto Escondido a little while ago and then finished in third at the WQS Movistar Pro in San Bartolo, Peru a week ago or so. Sebastian Alarcon won the thing on a Mayhem and landed second at the ALAS in Colombia –must have been distracted over there with something, we heard the girls in Colombia are smoking –also on his beloved Mayhem board. To top it off, Gabriel Aramburu just won the last Billabong Ancon Pro and took a brand new Mayhem stick.

MASON QUALIFIES FOR 2009 PIPE MASTERS 2/7/2009 - Mason Ho qualified for the 2009 Pipe Masters yesterday by finishing in the top 8 of the HIC Pipeline Pro. The waves at Pipe were heavy to say the least with solid 10 foot sets (maybe bigger depending on where you're from) coming through. Mason charged the whole contest and had to beat out Pipe heavies like Pancho Sullivan to secure a spot in the 2009 WCT Pipe Masters this December (the same contest Ward placed 2nd at in 2008). Mason had this to say, "I'm so happy, a dream come true for sure". Congrats Mason.

SI PRO UPDATE!! PAT GUDAUSKIS WINS 1/10/08 San Clemente's Pat Gudauskis won the SI Pro against another San Clemente local Mike Losness. He dedicated the win to our good friend Jack Meyer who passed away last year at this time while jogging in Melbourne Beach. Waves were 2 foot (shoulder high+ sets), glassy and fast - resembling a semi-closed out mix between Rivvi and the Pier. Semifinalists were Sterling Spencer and Nathaniel Curran. Asher Nolan had the highest heat scores that last few rounds but the waves starved him in the quarters.
We had a long day in the sun which was a sweet change from the last few days.
LOST.TV - 3 DAYS IN CALIFORNIA WITH SHEA LOPEZ 1/30/2008 - Last weekend Shea came to California to throw shakas and high fives at the ASR trade show and pick up some new boards. ...LOST ARTIST PINKY TAYLOR BACK FROM HAWAII ...Lost featured artist Pinky Taylor recently visited the island of Oahu in Hawaii to do a live art exhibition making custom Hats, Tees, and windows at The H.I.C. stores in Pearlridge and Ala Moana.
Pinky had some of his art for sale at H.I.C as well. While he was there he put a lot of smiles on the little bruddahs and sistas with his hat and tee creations and the fact that he is quite possibly the nicest guy in the world.

Devon Tresher advances into the quarterfinals after blazing through all his earlier heats and scoring one of only four 10s in the event. EXPOSURF 2008 (Peruvian tradeshow) was a blast! We took it upon ourselves, once again, to promote debauchery, buffoonery and nothing other than good times. We didn’t sell a single shirt, because we gave everything away including shirts, posters and stickers. After a couple whiskeys, yaggers, barenas, piscos and the like - Milton had to strap down the surfboards with locks so our employees didn’t give them away to the first wonderer asking for a sticker or toilet paper. SURF EXPO/ASR TRADESHOW-09 JAN Everyone was wondering how things were going to be at the shows. Well it seemed as though the ...LOST shredder posse's around the country aren't worried about a so called recession. With DJ's at both venues and sexy ...LOST models the party didn't stop for two weeks. Not much work was getting done by the hanger-ons like myself and Gyr and Nick G., but the reps and Big Rich and Rod sure seemed busy. Seems as though some companies didn't show up or resorted to their former occupations as farm hands, average-joes, and lurkers-looking for a hand-out.

Another shop of the week- Goodtimes Goodtimes is one of the raddest skateboard shops in Northern California in the stoney little town of Grass Valley. He said how in between sets a bright light flashed down from the sky and paralyzed both while lifting them from the ocean into something that looked like a space ship. The movie premiere went off this last friday at the Catalyst, ...LOST headquarters in San Clemente. Slater returned to the probably the only shop to ever be kicked out of (17 years ago before he won Lowers he wanted a ding repair and the drunk then-owner booted him -but then repaired it the next day). Shetler built the stage where the Scrid Hunters played traditional punk rock for all in attendance. And it was some damn good shit. Robo was in attendance. HALEIWA PRO- WQS 6 STAR - VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS Contest is over. What an epic day of surfing after the wind switched. Im glad I turned on the computer when the quarters started. Haleiwa was a bigger version of V-land. Spitting barrels across the reef. More of a tube fest than a actual contest. Wardo had a good run until a shocker quarter which saw him out of position and out of rhythm. But then he did get a sick barrel and then did a couple of flowing hard hacks and got a 6.
