9th ANNUAL SAN CLEMENTE SKATE CONTEST The 9th annual San Clemente skate contest went down this weekend and the local kids were in full force contest mode. While raising funds for the Beaches, Parks and Recreation Foundation, over 60 kids competed in Saturdays event. From the little man division 8 and under all the way up to the 18 & over kids were killing it!

Duffy will Jump It began with people jumping from bridges in Europe and the USA, then Indians in Acapulco, Mexico, were adept at jumping and diving from high cliffs into the sea. Weekend of Chaos at the X Games The level of skateboarding was off the charts all weekend long at the X Games 15 with some of the best skateboarders in the business all with one thing on their mind.
The pro street contest had a little different format this year with three fifteen minute jams on three different obstacles. Each jam lasted about 15 minutes and it was jam packed with great skating.

…Lost along with Sun Diego and Surfrider made their way down to Oceanside to take part in the “Morning After Mess” cleanup day. Over 1,000 volunteers at six cleanup sites picked up over 4,000 pounds of trash and 28,000 cigarette butts that were left behind from the Independence Day celebration.

KYLE'S STORY:
I went out with the boys the other day to discuss the current situation in Iraq over some sodas. After a heated conversation, I went for a skate to the local skate park and hung out with the local kids. In the afternoon I donated blood, volunteered at a local shelter and took a nap by the ocean while feeding the pigeons. Don’t know how, but I woke up without my pants.

The D-Man festival is an event to remember a friend and Dive N’ Surf employee Darren “D-Man” Marsee who passed away from Lymphoma back in 2005. We were happy to be part of the festival and help raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Berard and Duffy Join The Army The crew from Fuel TV's Built To Shred had some top secret session going on at Camp Pendleton this last week.

Chad Shetler has won 30,000 dollars in a week long gruel fest. Will he quit his job?? He placed 3rd in the Snowboarding section. Yes 3rd, heard he was hucking solid airs and rotations and the 3rd place finish put him in a good position come wednesday morning at C-st in Ventura for the surfing. SKATEBOARDING In PERU Peru might have one of the worst crime reputations in South America, but it also has hundreds of miles of empty beaches with good surf, the best underground skateboarders, epic food, and the girls are hot! Lost skate team manager Chad Shetler, took a quick trip to skate with a few of the Lost Peru skate team riders. Little did he know, he had come across some of South Americas most talented Peruvian skaters-Daniel Suarez, Burro, and the Bat!

EVOLUTION OF THE WARD Before monkey became man and man became surfer, we evolutionized the Psychoward boardshort model to what we called today the Fire and Water. We went from discovering fire and fighting dinosaurs, to creating sick boardshorts and ripping waves.

Once, there was a kid who knew this crazy doctor. One day the doc asked the kid to meet him at an empty parking lot located at Catalyst surf shop. There, the doc asked the kid to test drive this car that runs on plutonium. When the kid hit 88 mph, the car disappeared leaving two fire & rubber skid marks on the ground and waking up the bums sleeping next to the shop.
The kid showed up at the shop a few minutes later with this crazy story about traveling back in time. Everyone at the shop laughed at him and told him to get the hell out.

I ran into a guy selling fireworks on the side of PCH. He told me a story about him and Chris Ward surfing Creek on a Monday afternoon. He said how in between sets a bright light flashed down from the sky and paralyzed both while lifting them from the ocean into something that looked like a space ship.
